- Medical research: 1 October 2020, 1 October 2021 (annually)
- Health organizations: 1 October 2021, 1 October 2023 (two-yearly)
Project abstracts (maximum one page) may be submitted voluntarily by 1 September as applicable for preliminary assessment, which we highly recommend.
Applications for "medical research" sponsorship must be accompanied by a standard cover sheet containing all relevant administrative details. The cover sheet (in german) can be downloaded here. Apart from this, applicants are free to submit their applications in a manner best suited to the needs of their project. Submissions are best based on the criteria for applications specified by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
Operating costs (personnel, infrastructure) may be included in applications for grants as long as they are indispensable to the achievement of the stated goals. The Foundation does not make contributions to the general running costs of institutions and organizations.
As a rule, grants are awarded for two years. Repeat and follow-up applications are possible. The upper limit for grants is around CHF 220,000 (over two years).
Receipt of applications is confirmed by e-mail. The Board of Trustees makes its decision in mid-December. Applicants are notified before the festive season.
