Max and Sophielène Iten-Kohaut

The Max and Sophielène Iten-Kohaut Foundation, to use its full name, owes its existence to a married couple, Max and Sophielène Iten-Kohaut. Max Iten died aged 85 in 2015, followed in 2016 by Sophielène Iten-Kohaut, aged 82. The Foundation was established in 2017, in accordance with the couple’s will.

Max Iten’s life work was Auto Iten AG, Baar, in the canton of Zug. The large, eye-catching garage and car showroom, located at a busy roundabout in central Switzerland, was a well-known landmark. Today, it belongs to Emil Frey AG.

In accordance with its statutes, the Iten-Kohaut Foundation focuses on several distinct areas: “Cancer”, “Cardiovascular disease”, “Rheumatism” and “Eye disorders”.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees is Dr Hans Nater, Zollikon, and its Vice-Chairman Prof Dr Gustav von Schulthess, Zurich. The Managing Director is Yela von Schulthess, Zurich, and the Foundation’s auditors are Fibada Revisions GmbH, Langnau am Albis.

The Iten-Kohaut Foundation is a member of the Swiss Foundations Association.

The Iten-Kohaut Foundation is bound by the regulations and recommendations of the Swiss Foundation Code 2015.
